Grand Vin

We like to present our Grand Vin as the Argentine cousin of Château Léoville-Poyferré. A very Bordeaux-style blend led by our best Malbec, rounded out in proportions that change each vintage by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot.

Grand Vin

History

Grand Vin is our most ambitious expression. Born from the fusion of seven generations of Cuvelier family know-how in Bordeaux and the extraordinary terroir of the Uco Valley, it represents everything we aspire to achieve: elegance, complexity and an exceptional capacity for aging.

Terroir

Alluvial soils of sand and stones. Thermal amplitude of 15°C (27°F). 250 mm of annual rainfall. Constant winds from the Andes.

Philosophy

Our pursuit of the fullest possible expression of the Uco Valley terroir, honoring the Bordeaux legacy of seven generations of the Cuvelier family. Each vintage is a new interpretation of the same ideal: elegance, complexity and an exceptional capacity for aging.

Vineyards

Selected parcels from our own estate in Vista Flores, Tunuyán, at 3,280 feet above sea level, on alluvial sand and stone soils with a thermal amplitude of 15°C (27°F).

Tasting notes — Vintage 2021

Deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, complex and seductive with notes of ripe black fruit, cassis, plum, and dark chocolate. Subtle hints of spice and tobacco reminiscent of great Bordeaux wines. On the palate, an elegant attack with silky, well-integrated tannins. A long, lingering finish.
